Kulgam, 20-03-2025:Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), today chaired a meeting of the District AYUSH Society Governing Body at the Mini-Secretariat to review the progress of various AYUSH-related programs and services in the district.

The meeting was convened to assess the overall functioning of AYUSH services, with a particular focus on their implementation at Health and Wellness Centres (H&WC), Primary Health Centres (PHCs), and the District Hospital. Key discussions revolved around the ongoing efforts to strengthen AYUSH healthcare services, education, the quality of medicines, and the spread of awareness through Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) initiatives.

One of the major highlights of the meeting was the presentation of the District Annual Action Plan for 2025-26 by the Nodal Officer, which outlined the plans for further development of AYUSH services. The plan was presented in a detailed PowerPoint format, covering the key objectives and expected outcomes for the upcoming year.

The meeting also focused on the implementation of the National AYUSH Mission (NAM) in the district, with an emphasis on improving healthcare services, ensuring the availability of quality AYUSH drugs, and enhancing patient awareness through education and outreach programs.

In a significant update, the governing body was informed that five AYUSH Centres in the district have been nominated for National Accreditation Board for Hospitals (NABH) Certification this year, a move expected to improve the overall quality and standards of AYUSH services provided to the public.

The DC stressed the importance of inter-sectoral coordination between various departments and stakeholders, urging them to collaborate effectively in order to enhance AYUSH services, particularly in remote and far-flung areas. A proposal was also made by the DC to establish a separate AYUSH Unit at the District Hospital for better convenience and accessibility to patients.

The meeting also deliberated on augmenting the Ayush Mobile Medical Unit to reach underserved areas, ensuring that the benefits of AYUSH healthcare are extended to every corner of the district.

Among those present at the meeting were ADDC, ACP, DHO, Executive Engineer Jal Shakti Kulgam, DNO Ayush Dr. Ab Rehman, CDPO Kulgam, DPM Ayush, Drug Inspector Anantnag/Kulgam, and Senior Medical Officers from the AYUSH Department.

The DC emphasized the need for continuous improvement and alignment with the National AYUSH Mission's goals, urging all members of the governing body to work collaboratively to strengthen the AYUSH healthcare infrastructure and improve the well-being of the people in the district.
