AAP leader Arvind Kejriwal took a jibe at the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for deteriorating the electricity situation in Delhi. This follows residents of Jagatpur village in Burari protesting against the electricity department, which they accused of prolonged outages. While sharing on X, Kejriwal pointed out that the AAP government had previously established the power infrastructure in Delhi with a lot of effort.

He added, "We worked very hard to install the power system and kept checking it on a daily basis. There were no power cuts at all for a period of ten years. But these people have caused more destruction in a month and a half."

The people of Jagatpur village even put up barricades along the outer Delhi Ring Road because of the non-stop power cuts. This display of brawn was underway while the Delhi government was tabling its 2025 budget of Rs 1 lakh crore, which Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had called the "largest budget increase" in the nation.

However, the AAP lambasted the budget for being introduced "without an economic survey." Delhi Assembly Opposition Leader Atishi also requested a budget discussion from the assembly speaker.

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta called the new budget a "historic" decision to make Delhi investor- and innovation-friendly. With Rs 1 lakh crore being spent altogether, the budget is designed to foster growth, development, and improve the living standards of the people of Delhi.

For education, Rs 19,291 crore has been allocated, up 17% from the previous budget. The transport industry which comprises road and bridge construction has seen Rs 12,952 crore, a massive 73% increase. Further, urban and housing development schemes have increased by 9% from last year's budget.

The Delhi CM mentioned that during the year 2024-2025, the budget was Rs 76,000 crore but has increased to Rs 1 lakh crore, which is 31.58% growth. She indicated that this is the biggest budget increase the nation has ever witnessed.
