Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Thursday addressed how religion can give a boost to economic growth in a public meeting at an exhibition where the government's eight years of work were displayed.

He mentioned that religious corridors, such as the one for Maa Vindhyavasini, have attracted crores of tourists, and the economy of the region has been benefited by this.

During the programme, CM Yogi said, "Faith can be used as a driver of economic development, as is the case with the Maha Kumbh. I congratulate all of you on the success of the Maa Vindhyavasini corridor that has received many visitors, and I thank all of you for coming with such respect."

He also spoke of the Ganga Expressway, where he termed it as the biggest expressway in India, linking Meerut to Prayagraj. He made a proposal to conduct a survey of a route that would connect Maa Vindhyavasini Dham with Baba Vishwanath Dham and incorporate it with Purvanchal Expressway.

Yogi pointed out the significance of the Ganga Expressway as it will link big religious places and enhance both connectivity as well as economic development.

"The expressway is important for the economy; it will improve infrastructure and connectivity, providing tremendous opportunities for economic development. You can see the exhibition that showcases our progress in this 8-year Janpati Mahotsav. If you select and empower capable people, we can do great things, such as establishing a medical college in Mirzapur and making the Maa Vindhyavasini corridor," he said.

The Chief Minister expressed his pride in establishing a medical college in Mirzapur and the development of a number of infrastructure projects initiated by his government.

He asked everyone to continue supporting good governance, as he believed it would allow the state to develop and get better.

An exhibition was organized to showcase the achievements of Yogi's government in the last eight years, and Union Minister of State for Chemicals & Fertilizers and Health & Family Welfare, Anupriya Patel, also attended the event.
