NEW DELHI: Karun Nair's magnificent 89-run innings on his IPL return was not sufficient as Delhi Capitals (DC) endured a stunning batting collapse, including a hat-trick of run-outs, to lose to Mumbai Indians (MI) by 12 runs at Arun Jaitley Stadium on Sunday.

MI captain Hardik Pandya appreciated Nair's work and complimented Karn Sharma for bravery in bowling hard when there are short boundaries. He has brought out the team's never-say-die attitude and all-round contributions from all players.

Regarding batting order, Hardik stated they preferred batsmen in rhythm to receive more balls. He commented dew played a vital role and added remaining in the battle assisted in turning the match around.

Batting first, MI scored 205/5 with Tilak Varma (fifty), Surya Kumar Yadav, and Naman Dhir making significant contributions. DC's chase started on a wrong note with Jake Fraser McGurk being dismissed for a golden duck. Abishek Porel (33) was the only one who supported Nair as DC were bowled out for 193 in 19 overs.

The defeat brings an end to DC's four-game winning streak, leaving them second, while MI move up to seventh with two victories from six games.
