JKWDC Organises Mega Awareness Camp-cum-Loan Mela at Dragmulla, Kupwara

Kupwara, Dec 17: The J&K Women’s Development Corporation (JKWDC),  today organised a Mega Awareness Camp-cum-Loan Mela at the Community Centre, Dragmulla, Kupwara. The programme was sponsored by the National Backward Classes Finance & Development Corporation (NBCFDC), Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment, Government of India.

President SEWWA, Dr Aabida War, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, while Khalida Yasin, MSK Welfare Officer Kupwara, Ms Gull Yasmeen, District Manager JKWDC (Bandipora–Srinagar–Budgam), and Kekhshaan Shehzadi, Chief Patron, Volleyball Association Kupwara, attended as Guests of Honour.

The dignitaries were warmly welcomed by Shabir Ahmad Wani, District Manager JKWDC Kupwara–Baramulla–Ganderbal, along with his team.

The event aimed at creating awareness about various self-employment, welfare and loan schemes of JKWDC and NBCFDC, with a special focus on empowering women from minority communities and economically weaker sections. The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, ICDS workers, Self-Help Group (SHG) members and local women entrepreneurs.

Addressing the gathering, Dr Aabida War stressed the importance of women availing government-supported financial assistance schemes to achieve economic self-reliance and sustainable livelihoods. She also highlighted that the Managing Director of JKWDC remains actively engaged on the ground for the welfare and empowerment of women across the region.

Khalida Yasin, MSK Welfare Officer Kupwara, delivered an informative session on women’s safety and empowerment, advising participants not to share personal information or OTPs with unknown persons to ensure their financial and personal security.

Ms Gull Yasmeen, District Manager JKWDC, elaborated on various JKWDC schemes and loan facilities, providing valuable insights into the Corporation’s initiatives aimed at women’s socio-economic upliftment.

The programme commenced with the recitation of Quranic verses followed by Naat Sharif, and a welcome address by Shabir Ahmad Wani, District Manager JKWDC Kupwara.

Kekhshaan Shehzadi also delivered a powerful address on women’s safety and welfare schemes and expressed gratitude to JKWDC for organising the awareness programme in her village.

On the occasion, schemes brochures of JKWDC and NBCFDC were formally released by the Chief Guest and other dignitaries to ensure wider dissemination of information among potential beneficiaries.

The event was efficiently anchored by renowned educationist and son of Shaheed Shabaz Sahib, Naizr Ibn Shahbaz.

JKWDC reiterated its commitment to strengthening women’s empowerment, financial inclusion and entrepreneurship development across the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir.
