The much-awaited Khelo India Winter Games (KIWG) 2025 finally began in the scenic town of Gulmarg, Jammu & Kashmir. Famous for its stunningly white landscape of snows, Gulmarg again is the center of this event, welcoming winter games fans from across the nation.
The second round of the games commenced on March 9 and will go on until March 12 with more than 1,000 athletes, coaches, and officials. Competitors will be able to display their talent in four key snow sports: skiing, alpine skiing, snowboarding, and Nordic skiing.
The initial phase of KIWG 2025 took place in Ladakh from January 23 to 27. During that phase, Ladakh led the medal count, and the Indian Army won the men's ice hockey championship.
The tournament is a flagship event under the Khelo India programme with the objective of promoting winter sports and tourism in the region. With Gulmarg's world-class skiing slopes and world-class facilities, the tournament will witness spine-tingling competition and memories to cherish for a lifetime.
