The Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Limited (KPDCL) has issued a series of scheduled power shutdowns affecting numerous localities in and around Srinagar as part of routine maintenance and infrastructure work, officials said.
According to the Chief Engineer, Distribution, the 33 kV Sarnal‑Akura line will be taken offline, leading to a power outage in Akura, Nanil, Aung, Adlash, Nambal, Chee, Prakashpora and nearby areas from 9 AM to 3 PM on 17 February 2026. Similarly, the shutdown of the 33 kV Potushai‑Nadihal line will disrupt electricity supply in Nishat, Papchan, Ajas, SK Bala, Sadunara, Bazipora, Nadihal, Guroora, Argam and other adjoining localities during the same hours on 17 February.
Additional scheduled outages have been announced for later this month. The 33 kV Bandipora‑Gurez line maintenance will affect power supply to Kanzalwan, Baktoor, Kuragbal, Dawar, Wampora, Achoora, Markoot, Churwan, Razdan, NHPC Colony, and Tragbal from 9 AM to 3 PM on 21 February 2026. The 33 kV Pampore‑Khrew and Pampore‑Lethpora lines are also set for shutdowns on 21, 22, 24 and 26 February, impacting areas including Samboora, Lethpora, CRPF Lethpora, Ladhoo, Konibal, Chandhara, and LIS during daytime hours.
In a separate announcement, the power supply to Sopore town and nearby localities will be affected due to the planned 33 kV Amargarh‑Sopore line shutdown from 10 AM to 3 PM on 21 February 2026, the KPDCL said.
Authorities have urged residents and businesses to plan accordingly, as electricity supply will be temporarily suspended in these areas while critical maintenance work is completed.
The scheduled outages are part of ongoing efforts by KPDCL to upgrade and maintain power infrastructure across the region to ensure more reliable service in the long term.
