NEW DELHI:  The Government of India’s Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) initiative has emerged as a transformative digital platform for youth empowerment, connecting over two crore young citizens and 1.2 lakh organisations across the country through learning, leadership and service.

Launched on Rashtriya Ekta Diwas on 31 October 2023, MY Bharat serves as an autonomous body under the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports. It aims to harness the potential of India’s youth, who form nearly 65 per cent of the population, to drive national progress and realise the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. According to official data, the MY Bharat portal has generated more than 14.5 lakh volunteering opportunities and built partnerships with over 60,000 institutions, including government bodies, educational organisations and NGOs. The platform integrates youth across rural, urban and “rurban” regions through a unified digital ecosystem that matches aspirations with opportunities.

The upgraded MY Bharat 2.0 introduces AI-powered tools, mentorship hubs, and experiential learning modules that connect youth with experts and community projects. Recent Memoranda of Understanding with the Digital India Corporation and the School of Ultimate Leadership Foundation (SOUL) will enhance leadership training, career counselling and entrepreneurship support. The MY Bharat Mobile App, launched on 1 October 2025, expands access with multilingual support, AI chatbots and a Smart CV Builder, allowing youth to earn verified digital credentials for their contributions.

Partnerships with the Common Services Centres network under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology have extended the platform’s reach to rural and tribal areas, ensuring inclusivity through a phygital model of participation. Reflecting the spirit of “Yuva Shakti se Jan Bhagidari”, MY Bharat positions young citizens as architects of national transformation, turning digital engagement into action and aligning youth aspirations with India’s developmental goals for 2047.
