The Municipal Council Kulgam today inaugurated a new Reduce, Reuse, Recycle (RRR) Centre aimed at promoting sustainable waste management and resource conservation.

The center was officially inaugurated by CEO Zahid Sajad, who was joined by Tax Inspector Gh Mohiuddin Bhat, Nodal Officer Sanitation Syed Idress, and Nodal Officer Source Segregation Mubarak Ahmad Ganie, along with other officials.

The newly established RRR Centre will serve as a drop-off point where residents can donate reusable items such as books, clothes, and footwear. This initiative seeks to encourage responsible waste disposal and promote a culture of recycling within the community.

Speaking at the event, CEO Zahid Sajad emphasized the significance of the initiative in fostering sustainability and urged the public to actively participate in waste reduction efforts. He stated that the Municipal Council Kulgam remains committed to enhancing waste management practices, and the RRR Centre will play a crucial role in reducing landfill waste while simultaneously benefiting those in need.

Following the inauguration, the Municipal Council Kulgam launched an awareness drive focused on maintaining cleanliness in the town. A tricycle rally was organized, commencing from Townhall Kulgam and passing through the main market, aiming to raise awareness among residents about the importance of cleanliness and sustainable waste management.

The Municipal Council Kulgam continues to explore further initiatives to expand the reach of waste management programs, with the possibility of establishing more RRR Centres in the future.
