Union Minister and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) leader Chirag Paswan on Wednesday dismissed speculation about a possible change in leadership in Bihar, asserting that the current political arrangement in the state remains stable.
Speaking to reporters, Paswan made it clear that there is no plan to replace the Chief Minister and said the alliance partners are fully committed to maintaining stability in the state government. His remarks came amid growing political chatter and media reports suggesting that the ruling coalition could witness a leadership reshuffle in the coming months.
Paswan emphasised that such rumours are baseless and politically motivated. According to him, the focus of the alliance is governance and development rather than internal power struggles. “There is no question of leadership change in Bihar,” he said, adding that unnecessary speculation only creates confusion among the public.
Currently, Nitish Kumar continues to serve as the Chief Minister of Bihar and leads the government formed by the Janata Dal (United) in alliance with the Bharatiya Janata Party and other National Democratic Alliance partners. Paswan reiterated that the NDA leadership remains united and is working collectively for the development of the state.
The Union Minister also highlighted that the alliance is focusing on key issues such as infrastructure development, employment opportunities, and welfare schemes for the people of Bihar. According to him, political stability is essential for long-term development and governance.
Paswan further urged party workers and supporters not to pay attention to rumours circulating on social media or in political circles. He said the coalition partners are in regular communication and there are no disagreements regarding leadership.
Political analysts believe Paswan’s statement is significant because speculation about leadership changes often intensifies ahead of elections or major political developments in the state. By publicly clarifying the party’s position, the LJP (Ram Vilas) leader attempted to put an end to the ongoing debate.
With the NDA leadership reiterating its commitment to stability, the current political setup in Bihar is expected to continue without any immediate changes. Paswan said the alliance’s priority remains governance and ensuring that development initiatives reach the people effectively.
