Pakistani Army Chief General Asim Munir has once again brought up the Kashmir issue, just days after India criticized Pakistan for raising the matter during a United Nations discussion on peacekeeping reforms.
Speaking at a public event, General Munir said that no force in the world can separate Kashmir from Pakistan, reaffirming the country's long-standing position on the region.
He also highlighted the two-nation theory, the idea that led to the creation of Pakistan. "Our ancestors believed that we are completely different from Hindus—in religion, culture, traditions, thinking, and goals. That’s why we became two nations, not one," he said.
In addition to Kashmir, the Army chief addressed the ongoing security situation in Balochistan, promising strict action against terrorist groups operating there. He strongly asserted that terrorists would not be able to harm Pakistan, no matter how many generations try.
"You think a few terrorists can take control of Pakistan's future? If the powerful Indian Army with all its weapons can’t scare us, how can terrorists defeat the armed forces of Pakistan?" Munir said.
His statements come at a time of increased tensions between India and Pakistan, especially over the Kashmir issue, which has long been a point of conflict between the two countries.
