KULGAM, March 4:
In a continued effort to bring governance closer to the people, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan (IAS), visited Behibagh today, where he engaged with locals and addressed their grievances for swift redressal.

The public outreach programme witnessed a massive turnout from residents of Hanjin, Behibagh, Dedarkoot, Nowpora, Mohammadpora, Shiganpora, and other nearby villages. Delegations from these areas raised several demands concerning essential services and infrastructure development.

During the interaction, several issues of immediate nature were resolved on the spot, while others were noted for further necessary action in line with feasibility and norms.

Addressing the gathering, DC Kulgam reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to holistic development and emphasized that the primary objective of such outreach initiatives is to ensure governance reaches the grassroots level.

The grievance redressal camp was attended by ACR, ACD, ACP, Executive Engineers, Tehsildar, BDO, and other district officers, who were directed to take prompt action on public issues.

On his way back, the Deputy Commissioner also reviewed the progress of the Chawalgam Bridge, instructing the engineers of the executing agencies to expedite the pace of work and complete the bridge within the next few days.

These outreach programmes reflect the administration’s proactive approach in addressing public concerns and ensuring efficient service delivery at the doorstep of the people.
