Leader of Opposition in the Lok Sabha Rahul Gandhi participated in a 'Palyan Roko, Naukri Do' padyatra in Begusarai, Bihar, on April 7, 2025. The event was part of an overall campaign by the Congress party to raise the issues of unemployment and migration in the state. The padyatra, organized by Kanhaiya Kumar, seeks to rally public opinion for addressing these urgent issues before the Bihar Assembly elections due later this year.
Rahul Gandhi joined the march with Kumar and other Congress leaders, such as state Congress president Rajesh Kumar.
The march attracted a great deal of attention from party activists and ordinary residents, who had come to listen to Gandhi's speech and show support for the campaign's aims. Gandhi also spoke of the imperative to urgently recruit to defense forces vacancies, echoing the party's theme of jobs and security.
After padyatra, Gandhi traveled to Patna, and attended a Constitution Protection Conference in the Shri Krishna Memorial Hall.
He also received senior Congress leaders and recently elected district presidents at the party state headquarters in Sadakat Ashram to learn about election campaign planning and reorganization of the party in Bihar.
