Ahead of the upcoming festivals of Eid-ul-Fitr, Alvida Jumma, and Cheti Chand, Section 163 of the Indian Civil Protection Code has been enforced by Gautam Buddha Nagar police in the district between March 28 to March 31, 2025.

It has been done for safeguarding the public and preserving law and order on the festival days.

The use of Section 163, similar to the recently abolished Section 144, bans any public gathering without the administration's permission and is concentrated on keeping a lookout so as not to cause any disturbance during the celebrations.

All these measures are being undertaken by the authorities so that they can ensure peaceful celebrations and exhibit their sincerity in imparting safety to individuals in public places.

Police officials have appealed to the public to celebrate in a responsible and according to the guidelines provided.

The application of this section is proof of security in large religious celebrations since the police are trying to ensure that there is peace for all the celebrants.
