Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament Held at Government Degree College Kulgam

Kulgam, Feb 27: The Viksit Bharat Youth Parliament was successfully organized at Government Degree College (GDC) Kulgam by the NSS Unit of the college at the Conference Hall of the institution, witnessing enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges across the district.
The programme aimed at promoting democratic values, nurturing leadership skills, and encouraging active youth participation in nation-building. Students from different colleges of Kulgam district actively participated in the Youth Parliament and articulated their views on a range of national and social issues with confidence and clarity.

On the occasion, Mohammad Yousuf Tarigami, MLA Kulgam, graced the event virtually as the Chief Guest. Shahzad Alam, Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, attended as the Special Guest. The Principal of Government Degree College Kulgam, Prof. Dr. Mohd Abass Shah, along with several senior officials and faculty members of the college, were also present on the occasion.

Addressing the gathering and speaking to the media, the Deputy Commissioner stated that the primary objective of organizing the Youth Parliament was to develop leadership qualities among students and motivate them to actively engage in democratic processes. He emphasized that educational institutions play a crucial role in providing a healthy and progressive environment for students to grow intellectually and socially.

The event concluded with appreciation for the NSS Unit of Government Degree College Kulgam for successfully organizing such a meaningful and impactful programme, reinforcing the importance of youth engagement in shaping a progressive and developed India.
