BJP parliamentarian Jagdambika Pal recently made the remark about AIMPLB-sponsored protests against the Waqf (Amendment) Bill calling the board's actions a part of a "well-planned strategy." AIMPLB strongly opposed the bill calling it an attack on Muslims in direct terms and stating it puts the safeguarding of Waqf properties at risk

Pal condemned the AIMPLB for fomenting unrest and seeking to create tensions between communities.

He claimed that the Joint Parliamentary Committee had debated with the AIMPLB and included their input in the bill, which would increase transparency and management of Waqf assets. These are intended to work in favor of marginalized groups like women and children, said Pal.

The protest, which was carried out at Jantar Mantar in Delhi, was an expression of what AIMPLB leaders termed as a lack of consultation from the government about the bill. They claimed that it negates their rights and may result in clashes over religious properties.

As tensions escalate, Pal's statement underscores the political debate that continues to surround the Waqf Bill and its effect on communal harmony in India.
