Young Chief‑Ministerial Candidate Vows Big Change in Bihar

In the lead‑up to the impending assembly elections in Bihar, the chief ministerial contender of the INDIA bloc, Tejashwi Yadav, has laid out a sweeping vision for the state’s future, acknowledging his youth but insisting his agenda is mature and action‑oriented. He emphasised that his government’s goal would be to transform the state into a centre of opportunity eliminating the need for residents to migrate in search of work or education.

Tejashwi highlighted plans to establish industrial infrastructure including factories, food‑processing units, reopened jute mills, IT parks and special economic zones. He also promised to elevate Bihar’s status as an educational and healthcare destination, with quality colleges, universities and hospitals that could match elsewhere in the country. He framed this development push as the core of his campaign, attributing the previous government’s failure to lack of vision and road‑map for Bihar.

Addressing concerns about feasibility, he pointed to previous achievements: during his time as deputy chief minister in the previous Grand Alliance government, he noted that thousands of government jobs were created and over four lakh contractual teachers were granted permanent status. This, he argued, shows that the ambitious promises being made ahead of the polls are backed by practical experience and groundwork.

On the electoral front, he stressed that the INDIA bloc is contesting with unity and broad representation fielding candidates drawn from women, Dalits and the extremely backward community categories, signalling an outreach beyond traditional caste alignments. The campaign ahead thus pivots on themes of economic justice, inclusive growth and reversing decades‑long patterns of migration and under‑development.
