The National Testing Agency (NTA) has rejected claims of a paper leak during the NEET-UG re-examination, describing a viral video circulating on social media as “fake and misleading.” The agency stated that the re-test was conducted smoothly across all designated centres under strict security arrangements.
According to the NTA, the video being shared online allegedly showed candidates with access to examination questions before the test. However, officials clarified that an internal investigation found no evidence of any leak and confirmed that the footage was unrelated to the re-examination process.
More than 20 lakh candidates appeared for the NEET-UG re-test amid heightened security measures. Authorities implemented biometric verification, CCTV surveillance, frisking at entry points, and enhanced monitoring to ensure the integrity of the examination. The agency said all examination centres followed the prescribed protocols and reported no major irregularities.
The NTA urged students and parents not to believe unverified information circulating on social media platforms. It warned that spreading false or misleading content could create unnecessary panic among candidates and may invite legal action against those responsible.
Officials further stated that the examination process was completed successfully and that answer sheets and related materials have been secured for evaluation. The agency reiterated its commitment to conducting fair and transparent examinations while maintaining the confidentiality of question papers.
The NEET-UG examination is India's largest medical entrance test, serving as the gateway to undergraduate medical and dental courses across the country. The NTA said it remains vigilant against misinformation and will continue to monitor social media for any attempts to undermine the credibility of the examination process.
With the re-examination now completed, candidates are awaiting the release of provisional answer keys and subsequent results, which are expected to be announced according to the schedule set by the agency.
