The National Testing Agency is expected to announce the Re-NEET UG 2026 result by July 20, bringing relief to thousands of medical aspirants waiting for clarity on MBBS admissions. A senior NTA official said the agency is working on priority to release the result as early as possible and ensure that the academic session begins on time.
The re-examination was held on June 21 after concerns were raised over the earlier exam process. Since then, students and parents have been worried that the delay in results could affect counselling, admissions and the start of the new medical academic year. However, NTA officials have indicated that the admission calendar is being protected and the MBBS session is not expected to be delayed.
According to reports, the provisional answer key and recorded responses were released after the re-test, and candidates were allowed to raise objections. The objection window has now closed, and subject experts are reviewing the challenges before preparing the final answer key. The final scorecards will be based on this final answer key.
Officials said the NTA is working “on a war footing” to complete the evaluation process. Nearly 10,000 objections to the provisional answer key are reportedly being examined before the final result is prepared. Once the result is declared, counselling for MBBS and other undergraduate medical courses is expected to begin shortly after.
The result will be made available on the official NEET UG portal, and candidates will be able to download their scorecards using their login credentials. The scorecard will carry details such as marks obtained, percentile score, All India Rank and qualifying status.
The latest update is important for students seeking admission to medical colleges across the country. NEET UG remains the single entrance examination for undergraduate medical courses, including MBBS, BDS and other allied programmes.
For now, candidates have been advised to keep their documents ready and regularly check the official NTA and NEET UG websites for result and counselling updates. With the result expected by July 20, the focus has now shifted to the counselling schedule and seat allotment process.
