Ranveer Singh starring in Jayeshbhai Jordaar, a big-screen family entertainer from Yash Raj Films, portraying a new kind of hero and heroism rarely seen in Indian cinema.

In the film, Ranveer celebrates the girl child by playing a sharp-witted Gujarati man who stands up for his unborn daughter and takes on his family, which is representative of the patriarchal society in which we live.

Jayeshbhai is probably the most endearing hero to have ever graced the big screen, and Ranveer says he is honouring the strong women in his life – his mother Anju, sister Ritika, and wife Deepika Padukone – with Jayeshbhai Jordaar!

"Whatever I am today, I am because of the women in my life; I have been surrounded by very strong feminine forces and energies since my childhood and throughout my life," Ranveer says.
They are literally the centre of my universe; I wouldn't call them my support system. They are the source of my very spirit, as well as my source of energy and power. As a result, being a part of a film that pays tribute to the women in my life is very special to me.

"My mom means everything to me, my sister is like a second mother to me, my wife is the wind beneath my wings, and even my team is mostly comprised of women, and they are the reason I am able to do what I am able to do," he continues.
So, more than anyone else, I want them to see and experience this film. I am so grateful for this opportunity to express my gratitude to all the women in my life for shaping me into who I am through my art."

A hilarious social satire – Maneesh Sharma's Jayeshbhai Jordaar also stars Arjun Reddy's famed Shalini Pandey, who makes her Bollywood debut opposite Ranveer. The film, directed by Divyang Thakkar, will be released worldwide on May 13, 2022.
