From October 8 to October 11, a special film festival called "Bachchan Back To The Beginning" will be conducted to commemorate the historic milestone of the veteran superstar Amitabh Bachchan's 80th birthday.

The festival, which will take place in 17 Indian cities and include 172 showcases and 30 screens spread across 22 cinemas, will honour the actor through some of his key early films. The Film Heritage Foundation and PVR Cinemas have launched the unique festival.

Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, a filmmaker and archivist who founded the Film Heritage Foundation, has assembled a group of eleven blockbuster movies that helped establish one of the country's biggest stars, who has continued to shine for more than 50 years after making his screen debut.

"I was the biggest Amitabh Bachchan fan growing up," said Shivendra Singh Dungarpur, director of the Film Heritage Foundation. " I used to break the rules in order to watch his movies while I was in school, and I frequently got kicked out of college classes for taking notes about his films while sitting in the back benches. I'm really glad that the Film Heritage Foundation is honouring Mr. Bachchan on his 80th birthday with a four-day nationwide festival that is a first for the nation."

The showcase will take place in cities like Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Bengaluru, and Hyderabad to Ahmedabad, Surat, Baroda, Raipur, Kanpur, Kolhapur, Prayagraj, and Indore, and it will feature movies like "Don," "Kaala Patthar," "Kaalia," "Kabhie Kabhie," "Amar Akbar Anthony," "Namak Halaal," "Abhimaan," "Deewar" and "Chupke Chupke".
