Amitabh Bachchan, "one true sensation and superhero of our glorious Indian film fraternity," received a touching birthday message from actor and longtime friend Rajinikanth.

He wrote on Twitter, "The legend.. someone who has inspired me always... the one true sensation and superhero of our glorious Indian film fraternity enters 80 .. happy birthday my dearest and most respected @SrBachchan Amitabh ji .. with lots of love and best regards always."

Big B and Rajinikanth have a long history together. They have always brought us priceless moments, from co-starring in movies like Hum and Geraftaar to launching film festivals together. As demonstrated by their social media tributes for one another, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan also think highly of one another. The Sivaji actor tweeted a gift-wrapped "best regards" to the birthday boy on Tuesday.

In the 1980s, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth worked on movies like Andhaa Kaanoon and Geraftaar. The duo worked together once more for Mukul S Anand's Hum a few years later (1991). With their portrayals as siblings in the film, which also starred Govinda, Anupam Kher, Kimi Katkar, and Deepa Sahi, the two won the hearts of the viewers.

Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth collaborated on the short film Family to raise awareness of the COVID-19 pandemic during its initial stages.

A year apart, Amitabh Bachchan and Rajinikanth each won the Dadasaheb Phalke Award, India's highest film honour, for their contributions to Indian cinema.

Amitabh Bachchan's felicitation by Rajinikanth at the International Film Festival's opening ceremony in 2019 was a glorious moment.
