With the 2026 FIFA World Cup set to kick off across the United States, Canada, and Mexico, ZEE5 and Unite8 Sports have announced an impressive lineup of football legends, coaches, commentators, and presenters for their tournament coverage in India. The broadcaster aims to deliver comprehensive, multilingual coverage of football's biggest event to fans across the country.
Leading the English-language panel is former India captain and football icon Bhaichung Bhutia. He will be joined by former India head coach Igor Stimac, former Indian women's national team goalkeeper Aditi Chauhan, Kerala Blasters head coach Ashley Westwood, presenter Paul Masefield, and journalist Seema Jaiswal. Former India striker Robin Singh will also feature prominently across multiple broadcasts.
The coverage will be available in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Bangla, and Malayalam, reflecting ZEE's strategy to connect with football audiences across different regions of India. The Hindi panel will feature several former players and experienced broadcasters, while regional language teams have been assembled to provide local flavor and deeper engagement for fans.
For Bangla viewers, the panel includes Rajat Ghosh-Dastidar, Debjit Ghosh, Arnab Mondal, Pallab Basu-Mallick, and Argha. Meanwhile, the Malayalam broadcast team features well-known names such as Jo Paul, I.M. Vijayan, N.P. Pradeep, Shyju Damodaran, and Shiyas Mohammad.
The announcement comes shortly after Zee Entertainment secured the Indian broadcasting and streaming rights for FIFA events from 2026 to 2034, including the 2026 and 2030 FIFA World Cups. Matches will be televised on Unite8 Sports channels and streamed live on ZEE5, marking one of the company's most significant investments in sports broadcasting.
ZEE executives said the objective is to combine world-class football coverage with strong Indian voices who can provide tactical insights, expert analysis, and engaging storytelling throughout the tournament. The inclusion of former players, coaches, and seasoned presenters is expected to enhance the viewing experience for both hardcore football followers and casual fans.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup, the first to feature 48 teams and 104 matches, begins on June 11 and runs until July 19. With a star-studded commentary panel and multilingual programming, ZEE5 is positioning itself to bring the spectacle of the World Cup closer to millions of Indian football fans.
