AAP Slams BJP Over Rohingya Row Before Polls

As the Delhi Assembly elections draw near, the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) has launched a scathing attack on the BJP, accusing it of playing divisive politics by raking up the Rohingya refugee issue. AAP leaders claim that the BJP is deliberately using this sensitive topic to shift focus away from critical governance issues, including unemployment, inflation, and urban infrastructure challenges.

AAP spokesperson Saurabh Bharadwaj alleged that BJP’s strategy aims to polarize voters by painting the Rohingyas as a threat. He questioned the party's sincerity, calling their narrative an "insult to the hardworking people of Uttar Pradesh and Bihar who have built Delhi." Bharadwaj further stated, "The BJP claims to stand for development, but it’s clear they rely on emotional manipulation instead of presenting any solid governance model."

BJP leaders, however, dismissed these allegations, defending their stance on national security and reiterating their commitment to deporting illegal immigrants. A senior BJP leader stated, "AAP is trying to politicize a national security matter for electoral gains."

AAP’s counterattack reflects its attempt to solidify its voter base by showcasing itself as a party that prioritizes development over divisive rhetoric. By focusing on Delhi’s public services and infrastructure development, AAP hopes to contrast its governance record with BJP's alleged diversionary tactics.

With the election date approaching, the clash over the Rohingya issue adds another layer of complexity to the political narrative, potentially swaying voter sentiment in this high-stakes battle for Delhi.
