The much-awaited Jammu to Srinagar railway line, part of the Udhampur-Srinagar-Baramulla Rail Link (USBRL) project, has reached a major milestone with the clearance from the Commissioner of Railway Safety (CRS).

With CRS clearance in place, trains can now run at 85 kmph between Shri Vaishno Devi Katra & Reasi and station loop lines have been cleared for 15 kmph. This is a big step towards direct rail connectivity to the Valley.

Vande Bharat, DEMU and MEMU high speed trains are already in the pipeline for this important route. These trains will change the way we travel in the region and provide faster and better connectivity.

USBRL is a game changer for infrastructure in J&K. It will be a catalyst for economic growth & tourism in the region by providing rail connectivity to the Valley.

This is a testimony to Indian Railways’ commitment to connect geographical divides and develop regions. As the preparations are on to operationalise this route, this rail link will bring the Valley closer to the rest of the country and integration and progress.
