NC-Cong Alliance Accused of Pushing ‘Jinnah Constitution’

Union Minister G Kishan Reddy has fiercely criticized the
Congress-National Conference (NC) alliance in Jammu and Kashmir, accusing them
of trying to reinstate Article 370. Speaking to reporters, Reddy alleged that
the alliance is pushing an agenda similar to the “Jinnah constitution,” which
aims to divide the country.
According to Reddy, the manifesto released by the NC
contains proposals that seek to undo the abrogation of Article 370, which was
revoked by the central government in August 2019. “By attempting to bring back
Article 370, they want to implement the ‘Jinnah constitution.’ This is nothing
but an effort to divide the nation again, just like it was during Partition,”
Reddy remarked.
He further added that the central government remains
committed to the development and integration of Jammu and Kashmir into the rest
of India. He urged voters in the region to be cautious about the promises made
by the Congress-NC alliance, calling them misleading and dangerous for national
unity.
The Congress and National Conference have not yet
responded to Reddy’s accusations, but both parties have consistently advocated
for the restoration of Article 370, citing the need to protect the special
rights of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. The alliance has framed their stand
as essential for regional autonomy, while the ruling BJP continues to argue
that Article 370 was a barrier to progress and integration.
