Eknath Shinde, the leader of the Shinde Sena and the current Chief Minister of Maharashtra, has categorically dismissed reports suggesting his willingness to accept the Deputy Chief Minister post. The speculation arose amidst discussions of a potential reshuffle within the state’s ruling coalition.
Speaking to party members and the media, Shinde reiterated his commitment to his current role as Chief Minister, stating, "I am here to serve Maharashtra with full authority and responsibility." Party insiders also affirmed that Shinde views such rumors as baseless and a political ploy to create confusion among his supporters.
The buzz around a possible reshuffle gained traction following whispers of internal power dynamics within the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-Shiv Sena alliance. Critics believe the BJP is attempting to solidify its influence by placing a loyal deputy in the seat of power, sidelining Shinde in the process.
