Actor Varun Dhawan took a moment to salute the “real heroes” of India on Army Day. The actor is gearing up for his next film ‘Border 2’ and shared his special tribute on Instagram, posting two pictures with Indian soldiers.
One of the pics even has him posing with a tank. A powerful image that shows how much he respects the army. “Honoring the real heroes of India this #ArmyDay. Proud to be with them. #Border2 #prep,” Varun wrote.
Army Day is a special day in India as it is the day when Lieutenant General Kodandera M. Cariappa became the first Indian Commander-in-Chief of the Indian Army in 1949 and took over from British General Francis Roy Bucher.
The day is celebrated with parades and military displays in New Delhi and other regional headquarters across the country to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of the armed forces.
On the work front, Varun Dhawan is prepping for ‘Border 2’ as seen in his Army Day post, a sequel to the 1997 war epic ‘Border’ which was based on the Battle of Longewala during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1971.
The film is directed by Anurag Singh and stars Sunny Deol, Diljit Dosanjh and Ahaan Shetty. The film will continue the legacy of the previous one and will be a big visual treat.
‘Border 2’ will be based on the 1999 Kargil War between India and Pakistan. Produced by Bhushan Kumar, Krishan Kumar, JP Dutta and Nidhi Dutta and presented by T-Series and JP Films.
