In a remarkable transition from years of unrest to democratic stability, Jammu and Kashmir today stands as a symbol of profound transformation under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Marking 11 years in power, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) highlighted its key achievements on social media, showcasing initiatives that have reshaped the nation.

Over the past 11 years in office, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has implemented a series of bold political, security, and developmental measures that have significantly reshaped the trajectory of Jammu and Kashmir — the most defining of which was the abrogation of Article 370 on August 5, 2019, a long-standing promise that had been part of the BJP's manifesto for decades.

From social media posts to press conferences, and from the Party’s National President to Union Ministers, everyone hailed Prime Minister Modi's leadership for taking bold and decisive steps. In a post shared on social media, the government stated that, since the abrogation of Article 370, J&K has witnessed a remarkable shift — terror incidents have dropped, stone-pelting has nearly vanished, and local recruitment into terror outfits has declined. With curfews rare and tourism booming, the region is now embracing peace, progress, and new possibilities.

According to the report, there were 417 terrorist incidents in 2018, whereas the number came down to just 43 in the Valley by 2023. During the press conference about 11 years of the government, BJP National President J P Nadda said that, "with the resolve of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas,’ the Modi government achieved the seemingly impossible by abrogating Article 370. Today, democracy is thriving there, and the 63% voter turnout in the assembly elections is the result of the bold decisions taken by the Modi government.

Since the changes to its special status, Jammu and Kashmir has witnessed a clear shift toward peace, growth, and economic rebuilding. The government has received business proposals, indicating that private companies now have greater confidence in the region. Work has started on projects in areas like clean energy, tourism, transport, and technology."

The region has also launched several major infrastructure projects. Better roads and railway lines — including the completion of the Udhampur-Baramulla railway — have made it easier for people in distant areas to connect with the rest of the country.

These projects are expected to significantly reduce travel time between Katra and Srinagar, enhancing connectivity and boosting tourism and trade in the region. Additionally, the Prime Minister flagged off two Vande Bharat Express trains, inaugurated flyovers in Srinagar, and laid the foundation for a new medical college in Reasi district. These initiatives aim to improve infrastructure, healthcare, and economic opportunities for the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
