2 militants killed in Kulgam, 2 in Kupwara district of J&K

Kulgam district of Jammu & Kashmir registered another encounter in which two militants associated with Jaish-e-Mohammed were killed by security forces.


The gunfight between the militants and the security forces broke out in the Gujjarpora area of Kulgam. As per officials, the search operation is still going on in the area. 


In a separate encounter, the security forces had neutralized two militants belonging to the Pakistani militant group, Lashkar-e-Taiba in Kupwara. 


As per the police statement, the gunfight broke out in the Lolab area of Kupwara district after security forces launched a search operation in the area after getting inputs from an arrested militant namely, Showkat Ahmad Sheikh.


Talking about the encounter in Kupwara Kashmir, IGP Vijay Kumar said, "When the security forces searched the hideouts, terrorists opened fire at the joint search parties and our team retaliated, in which one terrorist was killed."


It is pertinent to mention that a couple of days ago two militants, involved in killing school teacher Rajini Bala, were also killed by the security forces in the Kulgam district of UT.
