3 Militants, involved in killing Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat, killed by security forces

A total of three militants, involved in gunning down Kashmiri Pandit Rahul Bhat at Budgam on Thursday, were killed by the security forces on Friday.



Two militants were neutralized by security forces in a joint operation with J&K police at the Brar area of Bandipora. The two militants were reportedly Pakistani nationals and hailed from the Lashkar-e-Toiba group. 



“One more terrorist was neutralized during the encounter which broke out at the Brar (Aragam) area of Bandipora. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow,” J&K Police said.

Inspector-General of Police earlier had said that two militants were pinned down after they had escaped during the earlier operation on May 11.



The IGP Kashmir said, “Two recent infiltrated Pakistani terrorists of LeT terror outfit who escaped from the recent anti-terrorist operation on 11th May at Salinder forest area were tracked down. They have been trapped today at Brar Bandipora,” 



On Thursday, Rahul Bhat, a Kashmiri Pandith, was shot dead by the militants. The deceased Pandith was appointed as a government clerk under the special employment package for migrants. He posted in the tehsil office in Chadoora town in Budgam district, and at the same place, he was killed by the militants.
