3 soldiers, one civilian injured in North Kashmir’s ongoing encounter

As the search operation was going on, the security forces zeroed in on the spot where militants were hiding. And soon these militants opened loads of fire upon the security forces who retaliated in return

In an ongoing encounter between security forces and militants in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district, at least three soldiers and a civilian were injured on Thursday as per the officials.

After getting the information about militants hiding in the Malwah area of Baramulla in north Kashmir, a joint team of the police and security forces immediately launched a cordon-and-search operation in the region, a police official said.

As the search operation was going on, the security forces zeroed in on the spot where militants were hiding. And soon these militants opened loads of fire upon the security forces who retaliated in return.

 Inspector-General of Police (IGP) Kashmir, Vijay Kumar commenting on the encounter said, "Exact location of encounter is Malwah area. In the initial exchange of fire, three soldiers and a civilian received minor injuries. Operation in progress. Further details shall follow.
