300 YOUNG PEOPLE COMPETE IN A YOGA TOURNAMENT IN SRINAGAR

At the Yogasana tournament, which was held at the Indoor Hall Sports Complex Polo Ground in Srinagar and sponsored by the J&K Sports Council and J&K Yogasana Association, more than 300 competitors competed in various age divisions. The tournament concluded on Tuesday.


The competition, which was launched on October 1 at the Indoor Hall Sports Complex Polo Ground in Srinagar, intended to help the valley's young people avoid drug misuse while also giving them the chance to compete at the national and international levels.


The three-day event's slogan was "My Youth, My Pride."


Yogasana is a competitive sport, according to Shabir Ahmad, the event's instructor and co-organizer, who was speaking to ANI about the necessity for this kind of event in the valley. This is the third iteration of the competition since Yogasana was designated a sport by the Indian government in 2018. In cooperation with the J&K sports council, the J&K Yogasana Sports Association is hosting the District Srinagar Yogasana Championship. It improves all the qualities necessary for a person to perform any sport, including strength, endurance, and flexibility.


At the Yogasana championship, more than 300 competitors competed in events such Traditional Artistic Singles, Artistic Group, Rhythmic, etc. in various age divisions, added Shabir Ahmad.


The participants came from a variety of Srinagar area educational institutions, including schools and colleges with both males and girls. The players responded with increased zeal to these recently introduced sports that developed more talents. The event's organisers promised to hold more occasions like this one in the future to promote the game, make it popular like other games, and draw in more young people.


The Kashmir Hockey Association and the Jammu and Kashmir Sports Council recently staged a number of hockey events around the valley, and the females took part in them with enthusiasm. The girls in the valley excelled in all activities, including basketball, martial arts, and water sports. along with hockey, rugby, and football.
