The operation was launched after the Army received intelligence inputs about the presence of terrorists in the area. The terrorists were hiding in a forest near the LoC when they were spotted by the security forces.

The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation. The terrorists opened fire on the security forces, who retaliated. In the ensuing gunbattle, all five terrorists were killed.

This is the second major success for the security forces in Kupwara district in the last two weeks. On June 8, three terrorists were killed in an encounter with the security forces in the same area.

The killing of the five terrorists is a major blow to the terrorist organizations operating in Jammu and Kashmir. It is also a morale booster for the security forces, who are engaged in a relentless fight against terrorism in the state.

The security forces have been conducting a series of operations against terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir in recent months. In the past one year, more than 200 terrorists have been killed in the state.

The security forces have also arrested several terrorist associates and sympathizers. The government has also taken a number of measures to curb radicalization and prevent the youth from joining terrorist organizations.

The government has also announced a number of incentives for the families of those who have surrendered or renounced violence. These measures are aimed at creating a conducive atmosphere in the state and encouraging the youth to join the mainstream.

The killing of the five terrorists is a positive development and it is hoped that the security forces will continue to maintain the pressure on the terrorist organizations and bring peace to the state.
