ACB Raids SMC’s former commissioner Showkat Ahmad’s residence

Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) conducted a raid at the residence of the former commissioner of the Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC) Showkat Ahmad. As per the sources, the raid is underway.

The raid is being conducted by the ACB in Showkat’s house located in 2nd Sector Humhama near Railway Bridge (Airport Avenue link). The anti-corruption agency launched the search in connection with the corruption charges lodged against the former SMC commissioner.

 Prior to the raid, the Housing and Urban Development had also kicked off the probe against the officer for allegedly creating posts and “illegal” promotions in the Srinagar Municipal Corporation.
