Amit Shah visits Jammu; meets people from different communities

Union Home Minister of India Amit Shah is on a three-day visit to Jammu and Kashmir. He met people from different communities on Monday, including Rajput, Pahari, Gujjar-Bakarwal and Jammu Sikh community.


During this visit to the Union Territory, Shah will attend public meetings, review the security situation and lay the foundations of different development projects. He will also conduct meetings with the J&K unit leaders of BJP today.


He will also pay a special visit to Mata Vaishno Devi Temple on the ninth day of Navratri, i.e. 4th October, where he will offer his prayers in his first visit to the holy shrine since his appointment as the Union Home Minister.


Later, he will address a public meeting in Rajouri after one and a half hour of visiting the Vaishno Devi Temple.


He will launch various development projects and lay the foundation stones for many projects at Jammu's Convention Centre. Further, he will offer prayers at Jammu's Raghunath Temple.


Before proceeding to the Kashmir Valley, the Home Minister will inspect development projects going on in Jammu. Then in the evening, he will conduct many crucial meetings in which he will address the security situation in the area.


On 5th October that is the second day of his visit, he will review Jammu and Kashmir's security situation during a meeting at Raj Bhavan, Srinager.


Manoj Sinha, Lieutenant Governer, Jammu and Kashmir, paramilitary forces, top Army officials, civil administration and state police will participate in this high-level meeting expected to commence at 10 am.


Later, he will address a public meeting in Baramulla at about 11:30 am to address the gathering.


Before his visit concludes, he will launch various development projects in Srinagar at about 3:30 pm.


Various programmes have been planned during his visit where communities such as Gujjars and Bakarwals will honour Shah on behalf of PM Modi's government for working towards the welfare of these communities.
