On Saturday, the body of a labourer was discovered, bringing the total death toll to two. “Another body was discovered beneath a large boulder. The boulder has been removed and the body has been recovered using machines. This rescue mission is nearing its conclusion “, Ramban SSP Mohita Sharma remarked.

The search for workers believed to be trapped beneath the rubble after a tunnel under construction in Ramban, Jammu and Kashmir, collapsed resumed early Saturday. After a new landslide caused authorities to cancel the operation Friday evening, the rescue effort was called off.

“The debris cleaning effort at the landslide site has resumed.” To complete the task as quickly as possible, the number of machinery and technical personnel has been raised.” Naib Tehsildar Javed

Jadav Roy, Gautam Roy, Dipak Roy, and Parimal Roy, all of West Bengal, and Shiva Chouhan, of Assam, are among those trapped inside the tunnel, along with Nepalese nationals Navaraj Chaudhary and Kushi Ram Chaudhary, and Mohammad Muzaffar Mohammad Ishirat, both of Marog District Ramban, J&K.

On Saturday night, a labourer was killed and three others were rescued. Two people were taken to Ramban District Hospital, while the third was sent to Government Medical College and Hospital in Jammu for treatment.

Sudheer Roy of West Bengal was identified as the labourer whose body was rescued from the debris yesterday.

Omar Abdullah, the leader of the JKNC, expressed his sympathies for the workers’ deaths. He wrote on Twitter, “I was saddened to hear that a second casualty has been verified from the site in Ramban where the tunnel collapsed. I’m hoping that the rescue operation will be successful in rescuing the remaining trapped workers “.

According to officials, a tiny section of the front wall of the tunnel at Khoni nallah collapsed during an audit on Thursday night, prompting a joint rescue operation by police and the Army.
