Banihal girl, who survived miraculously, died at G B Pant hospital

A Banihal girl who miraculously evaded death two days back lost her life at GB Pant hospital in Srinagar. The Sub District Hospital Banihal had declared her dead, but the locals adamantly believed that she was alive during her burial in the area.

As per the report, the baby girl was immediately rushed to the GB pant hospital in Srinagar where she was given appropriate treatment.

The Father of the girl, Basharat Hussain, said that her daughter had died in the early hours, today at the hospital. Medical Superintendent of GB Pant, Dr. Nazir Choudhary also confirmed that the baby had passed away.

“The baby was brought to the hospital due to low birth weight and respiratory distress,” he said.

Locals allege that SDH had shown negligence towards the girl, which triggered a colossal protest against the medical staff. The protestors sought the suspension of two SDH employees posted in the labor room.

Director Health Services, Jammu, Saleem-ur-Rehman took the cognizance of the incident and order the a formation of a four-member committee and asked it to submit its report within two days.
