On Monday, police stated that burglars stormed into a private bank in Jammu and Kashmir's Kathua district and fled with about Rs 1 crore in cash.

On the night of Sunday and Monday, the event occurred at an HDFC Bank branch in the Hatli Morh area.

The burglars entered the bank from the rooftop and tied its security guard to an iron rod, Senior Superintendent of Police (Kathua) RC Kotwal said.

According to the SSP, the robbers cut open the cash chest and grabbed the money, according to the guard.

The guard has been detained, and bank staff are being questioned, according to Kotwal, who added that the case has been referred to a Special Investigation Team (SIT).

According to him, the bank's CCTV footage is being reviewed in order to identify the suspect.
