ENCOUNTER BREAKS OUT IN J&K'S BARAMULLA; TWO TERRORISTS DEAD, WEAPONS RECOVERED

An encounter broke out between police and terrorists in the Wanigam Payeen Kreeri area of Baramulla district on early hours of Thursday. It has been reported that two terrorists have been killed in these encounter by the cops. As per the sources, the security forces started the operation on the basis of an information of presence of militants in that area. 

The search operation turned into an encounter when militants started firing upon the search party cops who again struck back. Various kinds of arms and ammunitions like AK 47 rifles and pistols were retrieved from the terrorists killed during the encounter.

Additional Director General of Police, Kashmir, Vijay Kumar identified the slain as Shakir Majid Najar and Hanan Ahmad Seh from Shopian district who were associated with LeT.

“Both joined terrorism in the month of March 2023" he added.
