On Thursday, the resort communities of Gulmarg and Sonmarg in Kashmir had their first snowfall of the year. Officials said that Sonmarg and Gulmarg each received one inch of snow, which made hundreds of visitors who were staying there quite happy.

They believe that firsts are always special. And when Gulmarg experienced its first snowfall, visitors were overjoyed. Following this snowfall in Gulmarg, visitors were treated to the greatest vistas in Kashmir. There have been reports of new snow in Affarwat, and another temperature decrease is predicted.

Border Security Force (BSF) jawans patrolled close to the Line of Control in the Gulmarg area of Baramulla despite the significant snowfall. Although the Gulmarg basin and its surrounding high mountains experiencing their first significant snowfall, BSF personnel are valiantly holding the Pir Panjal range.

Sonamarg, in the Ganderbal district of Central Kashmir, also turned white as a result of the area's first snowfall of the year. In the upper Himalayan regions, in the Gurez Valley, snowfall has also been observed.

Due to the icy circumstances, Mughal Road has been closed to traffic. The Jammu Traffic Control Unit should be contacted for any updates on the condition of Mughal Road, according to officials. Additionally, Pir Ki Gali recorded almost two feet of snow (Pir Panjal Pass).

"Weather is likely to remain partly cloudy with the possibility of light rain in J&K during the next 24 hours," an official of the MeT department said.
