Former JeI Members Launch Jammu and Kashmir Justice and Development Front

Srinagar, Apr 27: Former members of the Jamaat-e-Islami (JeI) have formally launched a new political outfit, the Jammu and Kashmir Justice and Development Front, marking their re-entry into mainstream politics. The announcement was made on Sunday during a modest press conference, diverging from the original plan of a grand event at SKICC scheduled for April 29.

Citing the prevailing sorrow across the country following recent tragic events, the party leaders opted for a subdued launch. "Today the party has been formally launched. Earlier, we had unveiled the banner in Kulgam. Although a grand program was planned, due to the current national mood, we kept the event simple," the organizers said.

Expressing appreciation for the public support, the leaders pledged to build a strong grassroots network and to contest all forthcoming elections. "For years, people have felt that their real representatives were absent from the field. We have come forward to fill that gap and will strive to address the issues faced by the people," they said.

Addressing the nation’s recent tragedies, the party condemned the incidents as "heinous" and "beyond human behavior," adding, "Words fall short in condemning such brutality. It is truly a misfortune for all of us."

On the subject of regional diplomacy, the party stressed the importance of peaceful resolution. “There are wise and sensible voices on both sides who can resolve issues through dialogue. We stand firmly with our country,” the leaders concluded.
