India rejects Pakistan's “absurd” resolution on delimitation of Jammu and Kashmir

This remark was made in response to media inquiries about the Pakistan National Assembly's resolution on 'Delimitation in the UT of J-K.'

"We absolutely condemn the absurd decision approved by Pakistan's National Assembly on the issue of delimitation in the Indian Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.  

Pakistan has no right to intervene or make pronouncements on Indian internal affairs, especially the Indian areas under Pakistan's unlawful and forced occupation "Arindam Bagchi, a spokesperson for the Ministry of External Affairs,issued a statement. 

India reiterated that the Union Territories of Jammu and Kashmir, as well as Ladakh, have always been, and will continue to be, an important part of India.  

Bagchi went on to say that the delimitation process in Jammu and Kashmir isa democratic process based on the principles of wide stakeholder engagement and participation.

Pakistan was also chastised by the ministry for interfering in India's affairs rather than concentrating on its own problems.  

"It is disappointing that, rather than putting their own house in order, Pakistan's leadership continues to meddle in India's internal affairs and engage in false and inflammatory anti-India propaganda," the MEA stated.

Pakistan was also advised by the ministry to refrain from making any additional material changes to the status and to leave the Indian territory it occupies illegally and forcibly.
