JAMMU & KASHMIR: TERRORIST KILLED NEAR LOC IN KUPWARA; ARMS AND AMMUNITION RECOVERED

On Wednesday, a terrorist was killed close to the Line of Control (LoC) in Kupwara. The specifics state that a gunfight broke out in the Union Territory's Sudpora region.


Additionally, the police have seized a number of incriminating items, such as weapons and ammunition.


"One foreign #terrorist killed in Sudpora near LoC in #Kupwara. #Incriminating materials including arms & ammunition recovered. Search going on," the Kashmir Zone police tweeted.

A suspected terrorist hideaway was busted by security authorities in the Ramban district of Jammu & Kashmir, and weapons and ammunition were found there.


A joint search operation was begun by the J-K Police and the 23 RR Army in the forest region of the tehsil Khari of the district as a result of the inputs, according to an official statement.


"Acting swiftly on the input, a joint search operation of JK Police and 23 RR Army was launched in the forest area and suspected hideout locations were searched which continued till evening during which security forces busted a suspected militant hideout and Arms and ammunition among other things were recovered from the spot," the statement said.


Arms and ammunition were found, including a grenade, a tape recorder, a handset with an antenna, two cassettes, three battery terminals, one negative photo film, and 310 Ak-47 rounds in rusted condition. There were also 30 9mm rounds in rusted condition.
