In the early hours of Monday, two terrorists were killed when an encounter broke out in the Tangpawa neighbourhood of Anantnag, Jammu & Kashmir.
“The encounter started at the Tangpawa area of Anantnag. Police and security forces are on the job," police said. Officials said on Monday that a confrontation between security personnel and militants had begun in the Tangpawa region of South Kashmir's Anantnag district.
A joint team of police and security personnel received information that there were terrorists in the vicinity, which led to the commencement of the gunfight.
Terrorists in the area started a fire while security personnel had just roped it off, prompting a response from the security forces.
Four terrorists, including those responsible for the recent murder of a policeman, were defeated in two separate battles last Wednesday. A Lashkar-e-Taiba terrorist was slain in the Moolu part of the district, while three Jaish-e-Mohammed extremists were sent to the Drach Keegam section of Shopian. From the scene of the encounter, four AK series rifles, a handgun, eight AK magazines, four pistol magazines, and other incriminating materials were found.
