Kashmir is being promoted as wedding destination", according to Tourism Secretary Sarmad Hafeez

Secretary of Tourism, Jammu and Kashmir, Sarmad Hafeez on Tuesday shared that Kashmir is being promoted as a wedding destination along with routine promotions. He said that 70 untapped destinations have been identified, and are being promoted.

In conversation with reporters regarding a function held in Kashmir, he said that recently, a couple from Canada arrived at Pahalgam for a destination wedding. He said that they are trying to promote Kashmir as a wedding destination because of its potential, apart from endorsing it as a place for adventure tourism and other tourism activities.

In a reply to a question. he answered that they are also promoting education tourism in the valley. The are looking forward to conducting exchange programmes partnering with many institutions in the country as well as the world. Corporate tourism is also being promoted, he shared.

According to him, the department is making efforts to focus on tourism at the grassroots level and provide people a complete tourism experience.
