LG Manoj Sinha lays foundation stone for Amarnath shrine board office in Srinagar

This year, 2022, the valley is expected to witness nearly 8 lakh (8,00,000) Amarnath pilgrims. And to make ends meet, authorities are making efforts to make the pilgrimage smooth

On Tuesday, Jammu and Kashmir’s Lieutenant Governor, Manoj Sinha, laid the foundation stone of the Amarnath Shrine Board Office in Srinagar.


 On Monday, ahead of laying the foundation stone, Nitishwar Kumar, Principal Secretary to the LG and the CEO of the Amarnath Shrine Board, along with Pandurang K. Pole, Divisional Commissioner, made a visit to the Baltal Base Camp, Domail access point, Car Parking area and other proposed sites for halt stations. The upgradation of the facilities aims to make the pilgrimage comfortable and trouble-free. 


Department of Information and Public Relation in a statement praised Kumar for executing the developmental works including augmenting the staying capacity at halt stations by 2 to 3 folds.


Kumar also inspected the proposed separate sites for the service providers located on the other side of Nallah Sindh. He directed the Roads and Buildings (R&B) department to formulate a proposal for building an iron bridge, in order to expand the land for the Yatra period.

The Amarnath Yatra is scheduled to commence on June 30 and will last till August 11.
