A massive fire broke out in Krumhora Upper Rajwar area of Handwara in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district, completely gutting a two-storeyed residential house and three cowsheds. Emergency operations were launched soon after the blaze was reported, with fire service teams, police and local residents joining efforts to control the flames.
According to initial reports, the fire spread rapidly through the residential structure and nearby cowsheds, leaving the affected family facing heavy property loss. Visuals from the spot showed thick smoke and flames rising from the area as locals rushed to help before emergency teams intensified the operation.
There was no immediate official confirmation of casualties. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained, and officials are expected to assess the full extent of the damage once the operation is completed.
