Nearly 70 members of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Council of Ministers will go to the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir as part of the Centre’s unique public outreach initiative.

Since Article 370 was repealed on August 5, 2019, the Union Ministry of Home Affairs has annually undertaken the Public Outreach Program in Jammu and Kashmir. Beginning in January 2020, it took place in September and October of 2021. This year, it was scheduled for May-June, and the trips had already begun, but the programme was suspended so that security measures for the yearly pilgrimage to the Shri Amarnath Ji temple could be put in place.

The outreach program is now set to begin on October 10. Nine Union Ministers' schedules were approved today by the central government, and they will visit Jammu & Kashmir in the coming days. According to the sources, 60–70 Ministers would visit the UT over the course of close to two months. The timetable would continue to be made public every week.

Beginning on October 10–12, Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti, Union Minister of State for Food Processing, Consumer Affairs and Public Distribution and Rural Development Department, will visit the Baramulla area as part of the Outreach Program.

“All 20 districts will be covered under Public Outreach-III like Outreach-I and II. The Ministers will also visit even tehsil and blocks,” sources said. According to the sources, all top Ministers would participate in the Outreach-III programme, including Rajnath Singh, Nirmala Sitharaman, Nitin Gadkari, and others.
