P K Pole appointed as CEO of Jammu & Kashmir

The ECI (Election Commission of India) appointed P.K. Pole (Pandurang Kondaboro Pole ) as chief electoral officer of J&K,  He is an IAS of 2004 batch.           

In a notification, the Election Commission of India announced that it has designated Sri P.K Pole  as CEO of Jammu and Kashmir. The appointment was made by the poll-body after discussion with the administrative authority of J&K Union Territory. Pole was presently posted as divisional commissioner of Kashmir. 

The appointment of P.K Pole significant as there are indications that the poll-body could hold assembly elections in Jammu and Kashmir in 2023 . J&K has been without an elected government since June 2018 after BJP government withdraw support to Mehbooba Mufti led government.
